If you live in Florida and you’ve stepped outside lately, you already know: the heat is on. Believe it or not, we’re still only in the preheat cycle. Real Florida summer? Still loading…
As the temps rise, your skin care routine needs to shift gears. Sun, sweat, humidity, and UV overload can undo months of progress if you’re not protecting your skin. So, before the full force of summer kicks in, let’s talk about smart, simple ways to prep your skin now—so you’re not playing catch-up later.
1. Don’t Just Wear SPF—Use the Right One
Yes, sunscreen is non-negotiable. But not all SPFs are created equal. We recommend using a broad-spectrum sunscreen with an SPF of at least 30 and reapplying every 2 hours (more often if you’re sweating or swimming).
Try This:
Avant Le Soleil SPF 30 by Evita Beauty
Our go-to daily defense against Florida sun. This lightweight, non-greasy mineral sunscreen blends effortlessly under makeup and offers both UVA and UVB protection. It’s packed with antioxidants and hydrating ingredients that make it ideal for all skin types—even sensitive.
Pro Tip: Use about a nickel-sized amount for your face—and don’t forget your neck!
2. Book Your Professional Reset Now
Heading into summer with congested pores, sun-damaged skin, or winter dullness? Treatments like HydraFacials, dermaplaning, or light chemical peels clear the slate and prep your skin for skin for maximum absorption of serums and SPF’s. Plus, that post-spa glow? Unbeatable!
3. Switch to Lightweight Products
Creamy, rich moisturizers are great in the winter—but in the Florida heat, they can feel (and act) like a straight-up oil slick. Now’s the time to switch to lightweight, non-comedogenic formulas that hydrate without clogging your pores.
Look for gel-based moisturizers, water serums, and hyaluronic acid-based products that lock in moisture without trapping sweat and oil. Your skin (and your T-zone) will thank you.
Try These:
A lightweight, anti-aging moisturizer packed with stem cell technology and peptides to hydrate without heaviness. Great for smoothing and firming while staying breathable in the heat.
This hyaluronic acid-based serum delivers deep hydration while helping to reduce the appearance of fine lines and wrinkles. Perfect under sunscreen or makeup.
EviCLR Liquid Oxygen Moisturizer
A refreshing, oxygen-infused formula that delivers an instant cooling effect while promoting healthy cell turnover and hydration. Ideal for hot, humid days when your skin needs to breathe.

4. Get Serious About Aftercare
If you’re planning treatments this season, be mindful of downtime and sun exposure. Some services (like microneedling or chemical peels) leave skin more vulnerable to UV rays.
We’ll always walk you through the dos and don’ts for post-treatment care, but as a rule of thumb: schedule sun-sensitive treatments earlier in the season, and be generous with shade, SPF, and hats.
Let’s Glow—Not Burn
Florida heat isn’t messing around. But with the right skin prep and a little help from your Evita Med Spa team, you’ll be ready to glow right through it.
