FAQ’s
What is the downtime? Can I go back to work after my treatment?
It is common to notice redness, swelling, bruising and soreness immediately after the procedure. However, this shouldn’t prevent you from returning to work after injections. We recommend scheduling injections around your work schedule if you are concerned about the social downtime.
When will I see results?
You will see results immediately after treatment.
How long do results last?
This depends on the product used, area injected and the patient. Most filler injections last for 6–12 months.
What is the best lip filler?
The right one for you will depend on your natural lip structure and shape and what you would like your lips to look like after fillers. Choose a medical provider who listens to you to determine your concerns and goals.
What if I don’t get filler every 6–12 months?
If you choose to not continue filler injections, your skin will eventually go back to the state at which it was before you started treatments.
Does it hurt?
Topical anesthetics may be used to reduce pain during treatment. Additionally, all Juvederm and Restylane fillers include lidocaine, which has been shown to reduce pain.
Are there any other side effects I should know about?
The most common early reactions/side effects of injectable soft tissue fillers include bruising, edema and erythema. The application of ice after injection may help to reduce swelling, and preoperative precautions regarding anticoagulating agents may help to reduce the severity of bruising.
Will my face look undone or unnatural?
When injected in the correct amounts by the right medical provider, filler injections can result in a subtle appearance that only you will notice. But beware, everyone might comment on your improved appearance, they just might not be able to pinpoint the cause.
I’m pregnant or breastfeeding. Can I be treated with filler injections?
Filler injections should not be used in pregnancy or when breastfeeding.
